CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS TO HELP STAGE GARMA 2019

11 January 2019

The Yothu Yindi Foundation is pleased to invite applications from hard-working volunteers willing to assist in the staging of this year’s Garma Festival – Australia’s premier Indigenous event.

The 21st annual Garma will take place from 2-5 August, 2019, at Gulkula, in north-east Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory.

With more than 2500 people on site over four busy days, this is a fantastic opportunity to build valuable hands-on experience in large-scale event operations in a unique bush setting.

Volunteers play a vital role in the preparation and delivery of Garma and its many daily activities, and are required to assist with transportation, ticketing and reception, merchandise, campsite infrastructure and operations, site management, security and administration.

Those with a willingness to work hard, be a team player, and ‘go the extra mile’ when necessary are encouraged to apply.

Volunteers will be required to organise and fund their own travel arrangements to and from Gove, and be available to arrive on Friday, 26th July, and depart Wednesday, 7th August.

You must also undergo a criminal history check and obtain a clearance to work with children from NT Worksafe.

To apply, please fill in the Garma volunteer application form, and send a copy of your resume and a short cover note explaining why you would be the perfect fit to volunteer@garmafestival.com.au.

Applications close on Friday, March 15, 2019.
