8 May 2014

Last week YYF’s CEO Denise Bowden & Director of Garma spoke with Arafura Times Andrew Harrison who heard whispers that the flagship ABC Q&A program would be televised live from Garma this year. Click here for the full article

ABC’s Managing Director Mark Scott writes: “The ABC’s Q&A has become a mainstay of public discussion and a powerful means for engaging popular discussion of significant policy issues in Australia.  It is a core responsibility of the ABC to focus public attention on issues of national importance and Garma will be a powerful platform to focus national attention on Indigenous Australia.”

The Yothu Yindi Foundation can confirm that initial negotiations are underway with the ABC.  No details  have been finalized at this stage,  including panel members and the Q&A theme. The YYF Chairman and Board will release further information once negotiations have concluded.
